Hill of Tears

Can architecture mourn?

Hill of Tears | OKTAA Studio
International Architecture Biennial of Antalya

—

Hill of Tears asks whether architecture can mourn — and for whom.

Drawing on Judith Butler’s theory of grievability, the project becomes a spatial act of resistance against the silenced grief of women and children whose deaths remain unacknowledged by the state in Turkey.

Through water, light, and shadow, the installation transforms a landscape of loss into a collective space of remembrance and defiance.
